I think that we should start a girls football game for houses just like the boys because some girls are really intrested and some girls dont like netball. I think it would turn out great thanks :) )

  2. Roy Chan says:

What do we need if we want to join the school council

  3. Speak to your tutor. All tutor groups in years 8-11 should have two reps. If you are in year 7 then you will need to wait until January. But you can always speak to a school council rep from another year. Look on the board outside Mr Harmer’s room or click on the page at the top of this site that tells you who all the reps are.

  4. Roy Chan says:

oh..im in year 9,286,my form already have 2 person in the FGS council now

  5. kyle sims says:

  6. Mr Stiles says:

I think this is a fantastic website – well done to all concerned. Why is is so much better than our school site which is still a nightmare for us all? Help!

  7. Amy Peachey says:

Is school open tomorrow ?? Does anybody know.

  8. Mrs Evans says:

The school is open. I think you must always assume it is open on snowy days. There are so many pupils that walk here so for us to close on a snow day would take snow fall of about six feet!

  9. Mrs Evans says:

Or about two and a half feet which is what we have today. :)

  10. Sasha Dunderdale says:

Miss Evans Would You Be Able To Tell Me When The Next School Council Meeting Is ? :)

  11. Mrs Evans says:

    Hi, Sasha,
We will meet on the 14th of December please, next Tuesday. At 12:40 pm in C22.

  12. Cameron Allwood says:

Some teachers have been concerned about the guttering leaking, resulting in having ice outside of their classroom. This has lead to people slipping and even such extremes as doors not being able to be opened because of the ice in the way. Students have then had to find a different way of getting into the classroom. Could this be a topic for the next whole school meeting?

    Cam.

    • rachel says:

Nice to see you on the site Cam ;)

You can bring this up on Tuesday, along with your example of a lesson you learned well in – we’ll need to remind Jake as well about that. :)

  13. lauren says:

  14. lauren says:

  15. Declan wraith says:

it would be alot better it you could wear tracksuit bottems for P.E even if you had a school logo on them then alot more pupils would do it on cold days

    • rachel says:

it does seem a little unfair as we (the girls) are allowed to wear track-suit bottoms when it’s really cold. It is the teacher’s choice I imagine.

The idea of having to make trousers with the school logo on isn’t very likely as we’ve changed the uniform so much lately.
Hopefully the weather is going to get warmer so I would bring this idea up again later in the year.

      Thanks for the post :)

  16. Luke Grice and Tylah Daly says:

We think when we goto flamingo land, we should be able to get into a group of 12 friends, and then you put 5 groups of 12 people onto one bus, then we would be in our friendship groups that we wanted to be in at flamingo land, so we would have a better time on the bus, and people would not be waiting at the entrance when we get there. We know this would make a little more work for the teachers, But if we put down who we wanted to be in our group a week before we went, you would be able to make a register of everyone who was in each bus.

  17. sophie parkinson and charlotte webster says:

i think we should be able to wear boots at school when its raining or snowing/as fore we will get cold and wet feet

    • Mrs Evans says:

Come to school council and talk about this. But I think you will find that during snow the school does allow suitable footwear. At the moment, the snow being not such a problem we are not talking about boots.

  18. sophie parkinson and charlotte webster says:

also we believe that we should be aloud to wear any kind of shoes as long as they are black.

    • Mrs Evans says:

Again, you could come to school council.
And that is the rule, just as you say- black school shoes.
But in school council we really focus on issues that are central to students at FGS – things like learning.
You are in a lesson right now- could you be learning rather than commenting here?
I look forward to seeing you in the next school council meeting where you will be free to raise these ideas with the council.

  19. jessica binns & yasmin bennett. says:

We should be able to wear whatever type of socks, because taking our socks off us in this weather is rediculious.

    • Mrs Evans says:

      Please read the comment above.
This site is not about complaints. It is about solutions. You should wear the correct uniform in the first place. You were reminded about it in July that we are still talking about it is ridiculous, I agree.
In future complaints about uniforms will not be published. You are ALWAYS welcome to talk about uniform in meetings -but you might find the council wants to focus on more important things such as learning- which is what you should have been doing when you were making this complaint! :)

  20. Rep. George Sturman says:

i am a school council rep for year 9
i think aswell as publishing your SOLUTION on this website you should go see your form rep, you should have one but if you dont then go see another rep around school, soon we will be wearing badges so that will make it even easier to spot us.
We really do want to know what the pupils think but only when in a positive manner

  21. Lauren says:

Please could you tell me when the next school council meeting is

    thanks :D

  22. Beth Henry and Luke Grice says:

We should have somewhere to go inside after eating our dinner at lunchtime. I know there is the dinner hall, but you are not allowed in there unless you are eating. Its getting cold outside now, and its going to get a lot worse. Thanks.
